The TELETASK MAIOR screens (TDS12051CA, TDS12052CA and TDS12053CA) have a built-in industrial PC with capacitive touchscreen and are designed to run the GUI+ software. Beside of the standard GUI+ functionalities, the TELETASK 15" and 19" versions of the MAIOR, also offer the possibility to run an VoIP SIP based video door phone system (TDS12052CA and TDS12053CA only).
The steps necessary for video door phone/intercom integration are:
- Start PROSOFT SUITE:
- Create IP cameras / Doors and Intercom stations (in the remainder of this chapter both the door units and the Intercom stations will be referred to as ‘stations’, unless the info is specific for one type of station.)
- Create GUI+ (on MAIOR)
- Add the Video door phone icon (optional)
- In GUI+:
- Set up VoIP (SIP) server, SIP port, UserID and password
- Assign a fixed IP address to MAIOR
PROSOFT SUITE
Create IP cameras / Doors
See chapter “Cameras & Doors” under PROSOFT – Starting a project, for detailed instructions.
Create a GUI+ in PROSOFT - GUISOFT
The creation of a GUI+ configuration for a TELETASK MAIOR is similar to the creation of another GUI+. Only the ‘Target Device resolution’ needs to be set to ‘TDS12051 MAIOR’, “TDS12052 MAIOR” or “TDS12053 MAIOR”.
Add the video door phone item (optional)
By default the video door phone screen is displayed on the first GUI+ page (favourites) at the moment someone rings the bell. After the conversation the video door phone screen disappears again (when changing the page or executing another function on the GUI+).
If you would like to have the video door phone screen to appear on another page or you would like to use the intercom functionality, you can add the video door phone screen manually on GUI+. To do so, select the icon “Camera and URL” and drag the video door phone image to the desired place on the desired page.
The screen ‘Edit GUI Item’ opens automatically. Here you can change the image, the icon and the ‘default open settings (like for any other GUI Item).

Set Up VoIP server and VoIP user
For VoIP you need a VoIP SIP server, which works as PBX (SIP telephone exchange). Each device that makes a connection on this server is a VoIP SIP client.
The TELETASK MAIOR comes with a pre-configured VoIP SIP server installed. If another VoIP SIP server is already present (e.g. in a hybrid analogue/VoIP SIP telephone exchange) the VoIP SIP server in the TELETASK MAIOR is not needed. But if no VoIP SIP server is present, no extra choice (cost) is to be made for this.
If two or more TELETASK MAIOR devices are placed in the same installation, only one of the TELETASK MAIOR devices will work as VoIP SIP server.
In the VoIP SIP server on TELETASK MAIOR the following numbers are available:
- 101-107: Numbers reserved for TELETASK MAIOR devices ( password is the same as the ID)
- 901-907: Numbers reserved for door units.
To configure the VoIP SIP server and user on the TELETASK MAIOR, start your GUI+, go to the locations screen and click the ‘Settings’ button at the bottom.
Enter the VoIP SIP server address, SIP Port, User ID and password.
If the TELETASK MAIOR for which you are configuring the VoIP SIP server is the VoIP SIP server itself, you can leave the address on 127.0.0.1 (this is the case if you have no other VoIP SIP server present and only one TELETASK MAIOR). In all other cases add the IP address of the VoIP SIP server.
The default port for SIP is 5060
The VoIP user can be 101-107 (if the TELETASK MAIOR is the VoIP SIP server), with the same password.
Assign a fixed IP address to MAIOR
If the MAIOR is used as VoIP SIP server it is important to assign a static IP address to the MAIOR touchscreen. Assigning a static IP address to a MAIOR touchscreen is the same as assigning a static IP address to a Windows XP computer. But the MAIOR touch screens are equipped with special software to protect them from undesired (spyware, viruses) / incorrect (during installation) changes to the operating system. When the MAIOR restarts all changes to the operating system, including changes to the IP settings, are lost unless the MAIOR is restarted using this special software.
After the IP address is changed to the correct static one, and the VoIP system is tested, use the “call ewf tool” available from the “start” menu on the MAIOR to permanently save the settings.
