'Window open’ for HVAC control

‘window Open’ For HVAC Control 00

To enhance the energy management in general and specific in case of B&B and hotel projects, you can implement a specific restriction: if the HVAC system is running and a guest opens a window, the HVAC will automatically turn off after one minute. Additionally, an alert message (accompanied by a beep signal) will be displayed on the AURUS-OLED touch panel, notifying the guest to close the window. It's important to note that rooms may be equipped with multiple windows.

Simple PROSOFT solution: the “Window open” function

To minimize energy waste, consider utilizing the 'Window Open' feature in the window contact configuration within PROSOFT.

This is how it works:
A window contact is connected to an digital input (e.g. TDS12117).
When the window is opened, the HVAC zone will immediately be disabled by auto setting the temperature target to the pre-defined frost protection level. This mode is similar to the 'OFF' state but maintains a minimum temperature setting of 5°C (can also be altered in PROSOFT).
After the window is closed again, the HVAC taregt temperature setting revert to its formed state (e.g. 24°C). In the background, the TELETASK system monitors the room's occupancy status. This explains that if the room guests left the room in between and for example a cleaning service person closes the window, the temperature setting doesn’t return to its pre-window-open state but to stand-by level.
This intelligent approach within the TELETASK integrated home automation system ensures the most sustainable and comfortable solution.

Get notified or delay actions

The “Window open” function also comes with additional functionalities. For instance, you can activate an alarm message or a standard message being sent out when the “Window open” function is activated. If you prefer a delayed action, you can achieve this through a Timed Local Mood.

Pro Tip: If you wish to display a repeated message on the AURUS-OLED (e.g. 'Please close the window'), you can utilize a Timed Local Mood with the 'repeat' option on. Make sure to include a specified number of beeps (e.g., 5) along with your message to effectively grab the guest's attention, prompting them to check the panel for the message. Also, remember to deactivate the Timed Local Mood in the 'on opening' tab to prevent the messages from endlessly repeating.
