DO I NEED A LICENSE OR SUBSCRIPTION FOR PROSOFT?
No, PROSOFT 5 is completely free. So you can always use the latest version because that gives you the most options.
IS PROSOFT 5 MULTILINGUAL?
Yes, you have all the common languages that TELETASK has distributors for.
You can set the language in the menu ‘Options - Language’.
Note: After changing languages, you must first close PROSOFT and restart it before everything is in the new language.
HOW DO I INSTALL PROSOFT ON MY PC?
Download the software via the link that you can find on the professional website https://teletask.be/nl/professioneel/
- Create a professional account or log in with your existing account.
- Select ‘Pro Downloads’
- Select the latest version of PROSOFT 5 and install.
WHAT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE THERE FOR PROSOFT 5?
A PC with Microsoft Windows OS with Ethernet connection to the LAN of the G3 central unit.
You can first use PROSOFT 5 completely off-line. Only when you want to send the configuration file to the central unit, a fixed or wireless (Wi-Fi) LAN connection is required.
There are no other special requirements. We recommend a recent version of Microsoft Windows, with standard internal memory of 1GB or higher.
HOW DO I START A NEW PROJECT IN PROSOFT?
Start PROSOFT 5 and select the central unit you want to use. After selecting it, you can start the configuration.
Tip: First add all interfaces (outputs and inputs) that will be present on the AUTOBUS. Then you can start adding rooms and functions.
CAN I PREPARE A PROJECT OFFLINE AND UPLOAD IT LATER?
That is perfectly possible. You do not need to be connected to a central unit when configuring. A connection to the central unit is only required when finally sending the .nbt5 configuration file to the central unit.
DALI: This is also the case when you want to configure DALI drivers with the DALISOFT tool. The central unit needs to be connected and the TDS13621 with connected drivers as well.
WHEN DO I USE PROSOFT 5 INSTEAD OF 4?
• When you have one or more PENTUS touch screens in your installation (PROSOFT 4 does not yet have PENTUS support at the time of the release of this text).
• When you want to connect/control EV charging stations (‘CPs’)
• When you want to be able to use USERSOFT (instead of CARDSOFT)
• Because PROSOFT 5 has more options
• If you already have a .nbt5 configuration file. You cannot downgrade a .nbt5 file to a .nbt format.
CAN I USE G2 HARDWARE WITH PROSOFT 5?
No, only G3/(DOMUS and PALAS) central units can be configured and work with PROSOFT 5.
CAN I UPGRADE A PROSOFT 4 .NBT TO A .NBT5 FILE?
Yes, that is very easy: Start PROSOFT 5 and open a file with the extension .nbt. PROSOFT 5 will then immediately convert your file to a .nbt5 version.
DOES PROSOFT 5 MAKE AUTOMATIC BACKUPS OF MY .NBT5 FILES?
Yes, an automatic backup of the nbt5 file is made on your PROSOFT PC just before sending it to the central unit, but this can only be used in emergency cases. You can easily find this file via the File/Restore Project menu, where you can directly choose from the various automatic backups that have been made on your computer.
Important: By sending the nbt5 file to the central, you actually also have a kind of backup in the memory of the central unit, but if this central unit breaks down (e.g. as a result of a serious lightning strike), you will no longer be able to recover the file there.
So always make sure you have a reliable backup of your .nbt5 files. Do not forget that your PC is probably not the safest place, because it can break down or be stolen or get lost. Especially if it is a mobile PC.
An additional backup on a cloud drive (e.g. Dropbox) is a better choice. However, you never have any guarantees. Therefore, consult with the customer and record in the sales agreement who is responsible for the backup files of the central.
DOES PROSOFT 5 USE TELETASK OR OTHER CLOUD STORAGE?
No, the configuration file is on your PC and when sent, it goes directly to the customer's central unit, without any intermediate storage or backup anywhere.
You can of course save backups yourself on a reliable (paid) cloud drive, which we even strongly recommend. Long time maintenance will be necessary because you may need your nbt/nbt5 files after decades!
WHEN WILL EMSSOFT, THE EXTRA CONFIGURATION TOOL FOR EMS BECOME AVAILABLE?
This is planned for a next version release at the end of 2025.
This will make it possible to quickly and efficiently set up a broad EMS management for installations with solar panels and controllable consumers such as hot water boilers, EV charging installations (CPs), smart grid ready heat pumps, etc..' These functions are currently already present in the first PROSOFT 5 release (to be arranged with functions like TLM’s and conditions, but in EMSSOFT this will become easier and faster to configure.
DOES PROSOFT 5 WORK WITH ALL TELETASK INTERFACES?
