TDS12340BE P1 INTERFACE FOR DIGITAL METER

This product is only available in Belgium and The Netherlands. We are working on a solutions for other countries. Please contact your local distributor for more details.

TDS12340BE 01

Go to Dutch version of the page. English version below:

The TDS12340BE is a BUS interface that provides the connection between the TELETASK AUTOBUS and the P1 port of the digital meter (electricity and gas; later is water also possible). This interface ensures that the TELETASK system has access to the consumption and injection data of your electrical and gas installation. This integration also helps to prevent peak load, maximize self-consumption, reduce the ecological footprint and costs through automatically controlled energy storage (thermal, electrical).

Note: the TDS21340BE version is only suitable for Belgium and the Netherlands.

Note: (only for the system integrator): To simulate the digital meter, a 'TDS20640BE Digital Meter Simulator' can be purchased. See more info below.

Note: In 2022, the end user can benefit from a premium from Fluvius when purchasing the P1 interface (temporary action). More info: here

1. PROSOFT Configuratie

The training video above contains a demonstration of the PROSOFT settings.

1.1. Overview

-P1 interface (TDS122340BE) can be considered as a 'sensor' in PROSOFT, so that its parameters fall under the group 'sensors'.
-P1 interface = 'I' interface -> TDS12340

TDS12340BE 02

- Four 'sensors' can be activated. Only define those that are actually present at the installation: Consumption, Injection, Gas, Water
- Click on the button 'CONSUMPTION' and define the type of sensor zone as 'KWh' and give it a name "CONSUMPTION"
- If the installation also has solar panels, click on the "INJECTION" button and activate this functionality by entering type 'KWh' and name 'INJECTION'.

In PROSOFT you can now make a number of settings on the screen of the P1 interface:
- For each sensor (consumption, injection...) you need to define a "HIGH" action. For INJECTION there is an action when exceeding x Watt for a certain time. For CONSUMPTION there is, similarly, a "HIGH" action when exceeding a consumption of x Watts for x time.

In PROSOFT you can define two 'actions' with which something can be done (by a function)- Two actions: in case of rate changes (Belgium):
• Tariff 1: DAY
• Tariff 2: NIGHT

1.2. Example INJECTION

TDS12340BE 03

Sensor Type: kWh
Name: Injection
High action: Timed Local MoodPreset (is installation-dependent and according to the customer's wishes):

• Preset 1 (Day): 500W
• Preset 2 (Night): 250W

Create a TIMED LOCAL MOOD (TLM). This TLM contains the waiting time that we define as time that the system has to wait before an action due to increasing injection has to be taken (in our example this is set as 15 minutes and from 500W). When the injected power drops below this threshold, the TLM is reset and the timer starts again as soon as there is at least 500 Watt injection again.

TDS12340BE 04

After the time has elapsed (in our case 15 minutes), we start a new LOCAL MOOD (LM) (not toggelaar) in which we call up the 'If Then Different' (ADA) that controls the first step and performs it if necessary.

TDS12340BE 05

In the 'DIFFERENT', the next step (ADA) is called with the same principle.
In our example, it comes down to:
• TLM (Injection: start timer)
o LMD (Injection: activate devices):
step 1: ADA: Injection 1... boiler start
step 2: ADA: Injection 2... dishwasher
And so on...

1.3. Example CONSUMPTION

TDS12340BE 06

These actions are completely similar to the case of injection, but of course this is not about increasing one's own consumption but about switching off devices to reduce the (peak) consumption.

TDS12340BE 07

In the first step, we send a message to the user in advance (eg. AURUS-OLED and/or OPUS...) that there is too high consumption. Then, if the consumption is further exceeded, we send an alarm message that an action will be taken in a moment.

TDS12340BE 09

As a 3rd step, we gradually eliminate consumers by analogy with the steps described in 'injection'. This also uses a non-reversible LOCAL MOOD that calls up 'If-Then-Different Functions'.
• TLM (consumption: start timer)
o LMD: Consumption: start off
step 1: ADA: turn off boiler
step 2: ADA: turn off EV
And so on...

The total set algorithm is thus easy to set up, flexible and very accurate.

1.4. Tariff changes

TDS12340BE 10

2 actions: in case of tariff changes (Belgium):
o Tariff 1: DAY
o Tariff 2: NIGHT

E.g. activating 'Rate 2', the night tariff (Belgium).

Local mood -> Start night Tiriff. For example, one can switch relays for turning on an electric boiler so that it is certainly switched on at this rate. Furthermore, one can turn a flag on/off for visualization on the user interfaces. For 'Rate 1' we put off the flag for night rate in our example. In general, it is therefore possible to activate /deactivate certain devices.

DATA LED:

o flashes when receiving data from the meter (On/OFF every second) = everything is fine
o LED is ON continuously and brighter as the power LED = data signal (wire 5 in the cable) is damaged
o LED is ON continuously and as bright as the power LED = cable is connected to the S1 connector instead of P1 connector
o ‘Data’ LED is OFF and ‘Power’ LED is ON = AUTOBUS is not connected.

Attention only use the supplied 'STRAIGHT' cable!

1.5. TDS20640BE Digital Meter Simulator

TDS20640BE 01

Once the P1 interface is configured, you will undoubtedly want to test its proper functioning as well. However, this is almost impossible since you have to wait for all kinds of power situations before you can see the effect. TELETASK has therefore developed a simple but convenient interface for you. This allows you to immediately simulate and test all kinds of consumption/injection situations.
To simulate the measurement data of a digital meter, you as a system integrator can use this very handy simulator tool. This tool can be connected directly to the P1 interface (with P1 cable that is included with the P1 interface) and the PC by means of a USB-A cable supplied with the simulator. You also need to install the software included with the simulator (MS Windows PC).

After connecting and entering a certain power to simulate, you can click on the set 'consumption' or 'injection' button to send this value to the P1 interface. PROSOFT diagnostics can see this simulated power as consumption/injection and test the programmed functionality.

Use the Timed Local Mood display (under 'Other functions'), Relays, Analog inputs. The training video of the P1 interface contains a demonstration of the PROSOFT settings (see link at the top).
