The alarm- icon on the opus mainscreen

TDS12070 OPUS Alarm Screen 00

The ALARM icon looks like a keypad. When you click on it, you immediately go to the 'ALARM' screen, which is a space that PROSOFT has specially created automatically for the purpose of operating an alarm system. However, you can also include other functions by assigning them to the 'ALARM' space in PROSOFT.

The main purpose, however, is that you will configure two keys in this room, which are password protected.
1. Arm theft alarm (activate)
2. Disarm (deactivate) theft alarm.

Alarm status feedback: In addition (highly recommended) you can also visualize a contact input that indicates the status of the alarm system. This way you can clearly see on the OPUS screen whether the alarm system is 'armed' or 'disarmed'. So no superfluous luxury.

Important:

The alarm system used must therefore have a voltage-free input that, when a TDS contact is closed, assumes the necessary status, regardless of other possible keypads in the home. In other words, the control inputs have priority over any system keypads of the alarm system.

Alternatively, OPUS can also operate an alarm center with a pulse. A pulse on one output is then for 'arming' the control panel and the other for 'disarming'.

By directly protecting the two relevant output relays (or, if desired, the timed functions) with a password in PROSOFT, a numerical keyboard will appear when clicking on one of these two functions (on the OPUS screen). The user can then activate the desired function after entering the correct password. Depending on the chosen control method, this can be either a permanent control of an output contact or giving it an impulse.

Overview of the alarm system requirements:
1. Have (preferably) two separate impulse inputs for 'arm' and 'disarm'. Alternative permanent input for 'arm' and/or 'disarm'
2. A feedback output that informs the TDS installation of the status of the control panel, so you can also clearly visualize this on the OPUS screen.
3. If there is also a 'part armed' option on the control panel (e.g., limited 'armed' mode during the night), then you should also be able to control this, preferably with an impulse, and receive a feedback contact from it.

Suggestion:
When you leave the house, you often not only need the option to 'arm' the alarm system, but also control the outdoor lighting and/or a motorized gate. You could also assign such control in PROSOFT to the ALARM room allowing this function to also be controlled there. Of course, such a function usually does not require password protection, unless there are small children and if for security reasons it should not be possible to operate this function without a password. The same password will then be valid for this key as well as for the alarm.

PROSOFT ALARM SETTINGS:

Add to a relay interface in PROSOFT, two output contacts to the room 'ALARM' (automatically created by PROSOFT as soon as you create at least one OPUS device).
If necessary, create two 'Timed' functions that provide the output contacts with an impulse of 2 seconds, for example (depending on what the alarm center needs to receive as an input impulse to assume the 'arm'/'disarm' status).

IMPORTANT: Choice of output interface TDS13504, TDS13512 or TDS13510.

In principle you can use any output relay, but since your TDS control panel is probably not powered via a power back-up system, it will also open the contacts of the relays of a TDS13504 and TDS13512 in the event of a power failure. In other words, you cannot permanently control the alarm inputs if you use these types of relays. If your alarm system requires it, use only output contacts from a relay module with bi-stable outputs: TDS13510.

If your control panel is to be controlled with 'arm'/'disarm' impulses, you can use TDS13504, TDS13512 and TDS13510.

The password for 'arm'/'disarm' is the so-called 'user password' that can be used in different places. You can set/change the user password in the PROSOFT – Tools – users – code menu.

Note: Do not forget to send the nbt to the control panel after entering or changing the password. The DoIP exchange ensures that the used OPUS screens immediately receive the new password.
