Important Notice: upgrade required for G2 installations running older PROSOFT versions

​Important cybersecurity notice!


Suppose you have customers with a G2 installation (MICROS+, PICOS or NANOS), which is TELETASK Cloud-connected and still running PROSOFT versions 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 or 4.0 up to 4.0.1.16. In that case, it will be necessary to upgrade them to a later PROSOFT 4 version.
If this upgrade is not done before May 1, 2026, for cybersecurity reasons, the systems will no longer be able to connect to the TELETASK Cloud.

Why is this upgrade necessary

The TELETASK Cloud uses a digital certificate for secure communication. The certificate type that is used in older PROSOFT versions is no longer supported by Digicert, our certificate provider.
In later PROSOFT versions, this has already been replaced by an updated secure certificate, which ensures continued connectivity, even after May 1, 2026.

How to perform the upgrade


You have two options:

1. Local upgrade

Make a physical visit to your customer and upgrade PROSOFT on site.
PROSOFT is free of charge, so neither you nor your customer needs to buy anything.
You can charge your regular service and travel fee.
Time needed on site: about 10–20 minutes.

2. Remote upgrade (optional)

If the central unit is cloud-connected, you can perform the upgrade remotely by activating a (paid) TSF16100 subscription for REMOTE SERVICES. This eliminates travel costs and saves time.
Time needed: about 15–25 minutes (slightly longer than local, but no travel involved).
This way, you can make a fair service profit while your customers benefit from a faster and more cost-efficient solution without disturbing their privacy.

Q&A

What happens if you don’t make the upgrade (or if the customer refuses)?

From May 1, 2026, the system will no longer connect to TTcloud. Local functionality will still work, but all cloud-related features (remote control, remote support, ATMOS app, etc.) will stop working.
How long does the upgrade take?
Local upgrade: 10–20 minutes
Remote upgrade: about 5 minutes longer, but without travel time.

Will this be necessary again in the future?

Cybersecurity evolves continuously, so updates may be needed again in the long term. TELETASK will always inform you well in advance if another upgrade is required.
Why is it only necessary for installations up to PROSOFT version 4.0.1.16?
In later versions, the outdated certificate has already been replaced by a newer version. Systems running higher versions are not affected.
